Do you have a normal Brush Tool selected This like history brush and selection brushes dont have smoothing.

Its never done this before (Ive used Ps for years know Im using regular brushes).

How can I get that to work again Ive checked the cog next to that in the options bar (all features there are greyed out), also checked the various Brushes panels to see if something got turned onoff.

Even with the default brushes, as I said, this option is greyed out.

I just watched a YouTube video by Aaron Rutten on using that option in CC 2018 ( ) and it was working fine there.

It is greyed out for the default, Legacy, and all other brushes as far as I can tell, including the Mixer Brush, which seems to be contrary to what the Adobe Help File claims - Stroke smoothing Photoshop performs intelligent smoothing on your brush strokes.

Simply enter a value (0-100) for Smoothing in the Options bar when youre working with one of the following tools: Brush, Pencil, Mixer Brush, or Eraser.

A value of 0 is the same as legacy smoothing in earlier versions of Photoshop.

Higher values apply increasing amounts of intelligent smoothing to your strokes.

Id appreciate Adobe looking into this and reporting back that the problem is acknowledged, or how my settings might be incorrect thus the reason Im not seeing the smoothing option available for brushes.

Nick, et al, when selecting the brush of choice, go into the Brush Settings Panel.

It is off by default I think (mine was off but I may have turned it off myself).

Check that, and then your Smoothing option on the Options Bar becomes active and all the additional parameters under the little wheel also become active.

Unfortunately I cant find anywhere in the Adobe documentation that says to go into the Brush Settings Panel and check that Smoothing box.

I suppose its something that those of us who have been using PS for a while should have known, but still a note in the documentation would have saved a lot of time searching for an answer.

Anyway, this turns out to not be a bug and the question should be considered resolved insofar as things go on my end.
